Black Sabbath’s Facebook post declares this really is “The End”

Kevin Mazur/WireImageIs Black Sabbath really done for good? Yes, if you believe what the band says.

According to Billboard, the group posted a logo on its Facebook page Tuesday with the hashtag, #TheEnd. Ozzy Osbourne and company played what they said would be their final live show last month in their hometown of Birmingham, England.

After forming in 1968, the quartet of Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward (who eventually left the band) cranked out 19 albums of seminal heavy metal during their nearly-50-year-career.

Last year, Osbourne told Billboard, “We started off as four guys from Aston who had a dream and it became true beyond our wildest dreams. And then we were manipulated, we were ripped off, we were conned, all of the above. We lost each other within each other, if you like. But it’s great to have got this back just to end on a high note, y’know?”
