ABC/Andrea McCallinMetallica‘s James Hetfield and ex-Van Halen vocalist Sammy Hagar have revealed the lineup for the fourth annual edition of their star-studded Acoustic-4-a-Cure benefit concert, which will take place May 15 at The Fillmore in San Francisco. While Hetfield usually performs at the event, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl will take his place while he’s on tour this spring with Metallica.
Along with Grohl and Hagar, the lineup includes Fleetwood Mac‘s Mick Fleetwood, Pat Benatar, The Grateful Dead‘s Bob Weir, and Steve Vai, among others.
Tickets for the Acoustic-4-a-Cure IV show will go on sale Friday, March 31, at 10 a.m. PT via LiveNation.com. There’s a two-ticket limit per person. In addition, a limited number of VIP packages will be available offering premium seats, a commemorative poster and T-shirt, complimentary food and drinks, and more.
The event features the various artists performing acoustically, and includes unique duets, jams and surprise guest appearances. Founded Hagar and Hetfield, Acoustic-4-a-Cure raises funds for and awareness of the pediatric cancer program at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco.
