Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has shared a statement addressing the legal proceedings between him and his ex-wife, Brody Dalle of The Distillers, over their children.
The statement, issued by QotSA’s PR company, begins, “Out of respect and concern for his minor children and their well-being, Joshua Homme has previously refrained from making public statements about his family to the media.”
“In light of the continued falsehoods, the repeated invasions of the children’s privacy and the resulting emotional harm, it is time that the truth be told,” the statement continues. “Our hope is that this will end the [inquiries] and speculation and provide the family the privacy and consideration they deserve.”
The statement recaps the legal drama between Homme and Dalle since their divorce in 2019, beginning when Dalle “violated the 50/50 custody agreement by withholding the children from seeing their father.”
“The situation was exacerbated by the inappropriate actions of her boyfriend Gunner Foxx,” the statement reads.
That includes the reported restraining orders that Homme and Dalle’s children, daughter Camille and sons Orrin and Wolf, filed against their father in 2021, accusing him of physical and emotional abuse. According to the statement, it was Foxx who filed the orders on behalf of the children and, in the case of the sons, forged Dalle’s signature on the document. Dalle, meanwhile, was found in contempt of court in 2021 for violating the custody agreement.
Homme has had sole custody of the kids since March 2022. On March 16, 2023, a restraining order against Dalle was granted on behalf of Homme, the children and Homme’s parents for one year and 11 months. Another custody hearing is scheduled for this fall.
“The goal of the Los Angeles Family Court System and Joshua Homme’s sincere hope is that the conclusion of this matter will result in the ability for both Homme and Dalle to co-parent their children peacefully,” the statement concludes.
Dalle has not publicly responded to Homme’s statement.
