The Null CorporationWhen Nine Inch Nails released their new EP Not the Actual Events digitally last year, the band promised it would eventually be accompanied by a “physical component” for those who purchased the title through their website. This week, fans started to receive their physical component, and, in typical Nine Inch Nails fashion, it’s all pretty strange.
According to reports on Twitter, the EP is accompanied by an actual warning that reads, “[Not the Actual Events] may contain subversive elements that produce feelings of euphoria and may be harmful and unsettling to the consumer.”
“Likewise, this physical package may lead to unrealized expectations or unexpected results upon opening,” the warning continues. “Caution should be exercised with both.” It also declares that the package will “make a mess.”
Sure enough, the collection is filled with a mysterious black powder.
Nine Inch Nails will headline the Panorama festival this summer, held July 28-30 in New York City.
