A new tribute album to late Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan has been announced.
The record is called 20th Century Paddy – The Songs of Shane MacGowan, and it’s due out Nov. 13. It includes contributions from Bruce Springsteen, Hozier, Dropkick Murphys, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Libertines, Tom Waits, Primal Scream, model Kate Moss, actors Jessie Buckley and Johnny Depp and The Pogues themselves.
Springsteen’s track, a rendition of The Pogues’ “A Rainy Night in Soho,” is out now.
“Shane was all naked bottomless humanity,” Springsteen says in a statement. “Threatening to force us to ask ourselves if we were living deeply, authentically. He was raw, hilarious, no apologies and profound. His soul was filled with the transgressive and ecstatic properties of the saints.”
MacGowan died in 2023 at age 65.
The Pogues reunited in 2024 and launched a U.S. tour in 2025 featuring original members Spider Stacy, Jem Finer and James Fearnley alongside guest vocalists and musicians.
